Before
by Fabrice Schomberg
Before we got here all the animals were technologically sophisticated. They wore garments, harvested the land and communicated across vast distances with the aid of certain apparatus.
However this came at a price, for the garments they wore were bought and sold for cash, the crops they grew held a monetary value and each communication they made was for a fee.
One day, one bird had enough of paying all these charges, so he took off his shoes and walked barefoot. In fact it turned out that this was much better, his balance improved and his back longer ached. So then he took this further and said he did not want to pay for food, so he just ate from the trees, the fruit was fresher, tastier and healthier. Then, instead of using technology to communicate, he just told one animal to tell another animal something or other. This way more animals heard the story and word got around where he had wanted it, in a very fast and personal way.
So it was not long before all animals rejected technology, garments, took off their shoes and no longer harvested the land
until we came here.
