I first got acquainted with Fabrice Schomberg and his Sketched Worlds project through our participation in the Radio Rietveld in the Stedelijk Museum project in the winter of 2006-2007. As Fabrice had his own program electrofab and I did the Inspector Casino's Detective Show we decided to do a live translation of a story out of his book Stardust.
For me this was the beginning of an exciting project: to do a live translation in the Museum and in the same time broadcast it, a process that normally happens behind closed doors or in the room of the translator. Since Fabrice's stories are multidimensional I was faced with some practical and theoretical problems to get the right version in Dutch, for this I had to ask him a lot of questions, philosophical and non-philosophical, and found out that this discussion attracted many listeners as it was an open way of making radio. It was really "translating on the spot".
